FAMILY CELEBRATES TRIUMPHS AND SHARES ADVERSITIES ACROSS GENERATIONS AND ACROSS MILES.
.....and since we are all family lets stay in touch.
Some of you may be "old hands" at blogging....but not me. However, I think it will be a great way for us as a family to keep in touch and really get to know one another. In this fast pace world that we live in, and with all the new additions, both by marriages and births, it is next to impossible for all of us to get together.
So let's do it through the internet. Take a few mins and let everyone know how you are connected to this "Family Tree". And since everything has to have a starting point....we will start with Ray and Naomi Barker.
***********************************************************************************
Help....me get started!!!!!!!
I am the youngest of Ray's and Naomi's eleven children. I am 63 years of age, so some of you may say "that's old" and some days I would agree with you....but age is only a number. What's yours??
Raymond and I live in Irving, TX. we have been married 46+ years....how about you?
We have 3 grown children- Susan, Donna, and Boomer, and six grandsons and one grand-daughter and one great grand son. We are retired and loving it....don't know how we worked all those years....but didn't really have much of a choice since we like to eat! I retired from Southwest Airlines and Ray retired from TTI - Electronic Distribution.
This is a picture of "our bunch" back in June. I wanted it at the bottom of the post but do not know how to locate it there...yet.
LOL.....Judy

I think this is a great idea Granny. Im one of the newer additions to the family. For those of you who don't know me Im Preston's wife and Bo's momma, Becka. Preston and I have been married for just over a year. We've known each other for a while but didnt really start hanging out until high school. Funny thing is, I hung out with Brantley before Preston. Lol. We started hanging out in high school and he actually dated my best friend Anda before we got together. Preston and I started dating January 23rd, 2007 and got married on April 6th, 2007. On January 4th, 2008 we were blessed with our little boy Bo Tyler Chewning. (Bo Bo or Bo Ty to just about everyone).
I have a fairly large family. My mom (Ann Marie McCollum (White) is the youngest of 7 children. She was born in LeRoy, New York and moved to Texas when she was 18 to live with my Aunt Sally. Her birthday is November 16, 1958 (she'll probably kill me for putting that on here.) My dad (Ronnie Dale McCollum) is the oldest of 3 and was born in Witchita Falls, Texas. His birthday is September 12, 1949 (he'll probably also kill me for putting that on there.) They have been married since March 19th (?) 1982. My mom's mom (Majorie Eleanor White (Bratt) is the only living grand parent I have. I never knew my maternal grandfather or paternal grandmother. They both passed away before I was born. My paternal grandfather (Cecil Preston McCollum) passed away in 2005. The year before that my dad's youngest brother (Randall McCollum) passed away and the year before that my mom's sisters husband (Cecil Dudley) passed away. For a while I thought my family was cursed but no one else close to us has passed away (Thank the Lord and knock on wood).
My full name is Rebecca Marie Chewning (McCollum). I was born February 26th, 1988 in Grand Prairie, TX. I have a younger brother (Zachary Preston McCollum) who was born May 17th, 1991. I have a half brother, Terry, and a half sister, Charlene, who both live in Oklahoma. I dont really know too much about them. I've lived in Grand Prairie my whole life (except for those few months in Colorado). Ive worked for my aunt, at Six Flags Over Texas, and am now currently working at JMH Printing Company. I went to Dickinson Elementary, Truman Middle, and South Grand Prairie High. There isnt much more to tell. Lol. I guess if you want to know more about anything feel free to ask.

Thanks for the post, Becka.... what a coincidence that your brother and grandfather and your husband all share the name of Preston! Also a coincidence that Preston dated your friend first then married you. The same senario happenned with me and Pa...
Yes that's Preston and me one night at Rusty's.
